There are four miles of trails that wind throughout Champoeg State Park. Beginning in the Riverside Day-Use Area, the trail glides through grassy meadows and oak groves before meandering along banks of the Willamette for hiking, bicycling, walking and jogging. There’s also an additional one-mile loop that passes the Pioneer Mothers Cabin, the original Champoeg town site, and the Oak Grove Day-Use Area. Follow the four-mile trail all the way to the park’s Historic Butteville Store, now a quaint restaurant/ice cream parlor, and reward yourself with an old-fashioned cone or root beer float. Champoeg Park is a short ten-minute drive from Newberg. For more information visit http://www.champoeg.org/attractions/recreation.html
